Race Man Tell-A-Pictures, LLC is a motion picture production company founded by independent filmmaker, Sowande Tichawonna. The company was formed March 6, 2000 with the mission of producing films that reflect realistic images of African-American life and culture.
The first Race Man Tell-A-Pictures project was the short film, Talkin Shop written, produced and directed by Sowande Tichawonna. Since its completion in August 2000, this slice-of-life film has enjoyed screenings in film festivals on both the east and west coasts, including the high profile 2001 Pan-African Film Festival in Los Angeles, CA.
In addition, Tichawonna won the 2000 Mayors Arts Award for Outstanding Emerging Artist.
